Each day brings new possibilities for seeing beauty, which is all around us, in every part of the natural world
The weather is quite delicious. Yesterday, after writing to you, I strolled a little beyond the glade for an hour and a half and enjoyed myself--the fresh yet dark green of the grand Scotch firs, the brown of the catkins of the old birches, with their white stems, and a fringe of distant green from the larches, made an excessively pretty view. At last I fell asleep on the grass, and awoke with a chorus of birds singing around me, and squirrels running up the trees, and some woodpeckers laughing, and it was as pleasant and rural a scene as I ever saw, and I did not care one penny how any of the beasts or birds had been formed
~ Charles Darwin, Charles Darwin's Letters
The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are
~ Joseph Campbell
As we climbed, sunbeams pierced the brume to pick out pools of water in bowls of polished rock and carpets of glistening, emerald ferns. Big trees lay over the narrow ravine, their backs covered in moss. As we rambled higher still, blue sky tinted the fog and, suddenly, we were in warm sun on the golden flanks of Mount Tamalpais
~ Gregory Dicum ... Near the Golden Gate
Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all
~ Stanley Horowitz
There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved
~ Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species
Our ability to go deeply into silence brings us many benefits. It is when the soul is in dead silence that it is able to go beyond its accumulated sanskars (patterns) and karma and see its original nature clearly. I may have been making overall spiritual effort for a long period of time, but this effort alone would only take me so far. It is when I make the effort to experience dead silence, that I am able to capture the awareness of myself in my original form, the form to which I am returning once again. When I am in this stage, the catching power of the soul is immense and the inner experience is very powerful
~ BK Janki

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE. This dude is hawkeye
1959 song
My favorite sportsman of all time. Number 2 is tiger. Number 3 is John Stockton
those women should have been wearing safety glasses for the risk of flying glass and standing so close to the target. I get safety wasnt really a thing back then, but anything can happen with physics, and arrow can deflect.
Good job you made, my friend, with these two classic American commercial of 1954, I can understand how they how they took you back to when you were a child 🙂 did you have products from this brand in your family? They seemed really well made. Funny and effective the initial idea with the pretty woman who even with her eyes covered by a mask, perfectly and quickly recognizes the various compartments in which the various types of food were stored 😊📺 🏠 G.
I am happy you enjoyed, my friend :) And the commercials do take me back to my childhood, the woman is nice and self assured too. I like how she demonstrates. It's funny as you say how she is able to find everything with her mask on. I don't remember the brand we had with the refrigerator. I still have our original TV from my family, from 1948, a Philco brand ✌ 😊 T.
The real Legolas
You gotta love Gracie.
Creepy anyone? hahahah.
Hill is so bad, the women have to stop shooting to let him shoot.
I wonder why Hugh Bonneville said what he said about Thomas Howes Here. Everywhere I have seen him mentioned in print or here on UA-cam, Mr. Howes Has been described as most pleasant and easy to work with.
I could listen to this guy read me a book.
It’s 9:37 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Every time I hear this song I am more deeply touched even when it first came out, I totally identified with it because my middle name is Bernadette and I have pretty much always come on by my middle name since childhood. No just listen to it again and I have tears in 😮😮my eyes 😮
This is quite different from my favorite scene in "Old Yeller", where he saved Arliss from the enraged mother bear. Other than that, while it takes place in Florida and "Old Yeller" takes place in Texas. The fight begins at 2:55.
Shirley wears pink or yellow dress in the movie scene
Shirley she’s a good French minuet dance
That was a color version of the Shirley temple heidi
When I first read The Yearling, I honestly thought Slewfoot was gonna be the main antagonist, but he has very little roles and very little screen time. Not like Satan from Night Of The Grizzly, the giant grizzly from the horror film Grizzly, or Three Toes from Wilderness Family and Mustang Country.
TRY DROPPING ACID ON THIS BACKGROND AT. HOME,WHEN THE NIGHT BEFORE, YOU WERE AT THE FILLMORE WATCHING STEVE MILLER?!
They just dont write’m like this anymore, due to Splinter Awareness!
My fave Astaire/Rogers routine. Makes me happy every time I watch it.
I just loved Fred Astaire. He was 1 of a kind & the best dancer. ❤
Never seen this before 2024. Nice
Great stuff - and knowing what the narration ("pretty girls" etc) would do to modern Feminists is an added pleasure!
I had a yellow pit bull whose mother was used to hunt wild boars. He was just like the dog in this movie. My buddies little girl could wrestle with him in the yard and he would just roll over and let her do what ever she wanted to. Never ever did he growl or show her any aggression. But if stray animal got close to her, it better pray I was close. He was super protective of her, my mom and my grandmother. One of if not the best dog I’ve ever owned.
❤

Brilliant! Fascinating! Leagues above the stupidity of the current situation and the multitude of fools. A breath of fresh air. Loved the way he described acting as being Zen. Being in the moment which brings you alive.
Callow is so articulate. Speaks beautifully. I'm envious.
How on earth can Rose leave out his magnificent biography of Charles Laughton, whom many consider one of the greatest or the greatest actor who ever lived?
Funny trousers she has!
Is Ginger really riding?
In London?
From what year?
Top Hat was made in 1935, nearly 90 years ago now but still as fresh as the day it was made.
3:55 She must be her daughter. Lots of trust and confidence!
There is something indefinable and mesmerizing about Fred and Ginger dancing. Unbelievable talent. Perfection. The music, the Art Deco sets and their on-screen chemistry make all of their scenes things of pure beauty.
Damn those Chics had some nice bods 😂
Howard Hill was an outstanding, conventional archer but there are those who do what looks impossible: ua-cam.com/video/XQn1c8g70IU/v-deo.html
I'm an English archer and i grew up hearing stories of his shooting. My dad was a champion archer and my brother and i always had a bow in our hand as kids. He was the greatest!! Fairly sure he still holds all sorts of crazy records. He did hold the record at one time for distance, number of arrows in the air at once,he beat the mexican skeet champion shooting clays with his bow and arrows against a shotgun😂,he shot and killed a sperm whale, went big game fishing with the bow, shot everything in Africa, strung the heaviest bow sat down and then there's the trick shooting, movies,Errol Flynn, etc. Goat !!
Somehow this song was the beginning of my love affair with St. Bernadette over 50 years ago., when I hardly knew who or what she was. She is my patron, or is matron, saint. When I entered the monastery, I voraciously read up everything I could lay hands on about her. What a vessel the Blessed Mother chose.
Downton abbey will kill it self off.with to much D A.it will not hold to much attention any more.
I hope the cute little baby boy is now a strong and healthy 13-year-old!
That was terrific
Possibly, the greatest Tribute song bringing the listener to such a quaint beautiful town . Play it once a day to give me Peace
I can’t hear anything and I have the volume turned all the way up
Christmas lights are great. Christmas lights with snow are even better. And Christmas lights with falling snow are better still. Thanks
Thank you, Tim! This snow-covered village illuminated by many small lights is enchanting, it seems to have come out of a dream... These lovely images and music prolong the Christmas atmosphere that we love so much 😍🎄 Watching the snow fall from the deep blue sky, I expect Santa's sleigh to make his appearance at any moment 😊🎅🏻 🫎🛷 G.
When I started to see this scene, with the people emerging, I wanted to capture the moments of people who were out enjoying the beautiful night and the illuminations, Gabriella. I have been to Leavenworth in the past, and one store had many items from Europe having to do with Christmas, things I had never seen! I am so pleased you enjoyed, my friend. Perhaps someday soon we’ll see Santa in that deep blue sky. ☺ T. 😊🎅🏻 🛷
Che bello Tim! Grazie e tanti tanti auguri per il nuovo anno <❤
I am very happy you enjoyed, Flora! Wishing you all the best for your New Year <❤
Play it once a day. Great song by a great singer. How pleasant to listen to. You can picture the village
